Beginning Bellydance Fusion-
Study the ancient art of bellydance infused with
fresh breaths of modern style with Bliss! Learn to isolate body movements,
improve posture, increase body awareness, and dance with strength and
grace. A variety of music styles from traditional, electronica and hip hop
allow for texture an non conventional energy to permeate the workshop.
Intermediate Bellydance Fusion-
For dancers that have already studied bellydance
and are ready to refine skill and to discover ways to layer movements and
timing. Our warm up will begin with yoga and core strength training
exercises to advance our balance and poise. In this playshop we will pay
attention to detail of belly rolls and work on layering movements with
them. From there we will explore a wide range of shoulder possibilities
from slow and slinky to fast and tricky. Make your mind spin as we layer
movements and timing. Then we throw everything together and play with
combining slow movements with fast movements, levels and lots of laughter.
A short hafla and cool down will set the playshop to a close.
Fire Fan Bellydance-
For creating patterns of body movement that compliment fan technique,
bellydance fusion is a powerful medium. By combining strong posture, foot patterns
and body isolations with the concepts of snakes, antispins, isolations and fan technique
we can highlight the art of dancing with fire. We will explore slow and fast tempo
combinations and allow for layering options for Intermediate/Advanced bellydancers
and fan spinners. All levels welcome, be prepared to challenge yourself wherever you may
be in dance or fan tech. Plan a workshop for you bellydancing or fire troupe and
expand performance possibilities!!
Fire Bellydance-
Learn to combine the movements of bellydance with fire art.
The possibilities of prop combination include (but are not limited to) fans,
palms, sword, poi, staff, double staff, hoop or contact juggling. This class
will begin with yoga to stretch and condition the entire body, and to center
into our movement and breath. We will then drill several techniques of bellydance
and learn a sequence of dance to add our props to. Each prop is unique and
will require a slight difference of movement vocabulary, come prepared with
the tools that you feel most comfortable with so the focus can be on
adding dance with your favorite prop! We will end with a short cool down.
Time:1.5 hours
Double Staff Dance-
Enjoy the extension of distinctive movement with the flow of double staff geometry.
We will begin with a basic warm up incorporating yoga postures, and an emphasis on wrist,
elbow and shoulder care. Then we will cover the concepts of direction and timing
to gain orientation of our bodys' movements and the staffs' movements. We will cover
antispins, isolations, translations, newtons and some playful dance to get you out of
your head and into interacting with the audience and your fellow flow artists.
We will explore stance, levels, space and quality along with foot patterns, body locks, form,
partner work, blocking and concepts to utilize in creating your own choreography!!
Let's dance! Practice double staves will be available for use in the class and for sale.

Contact Juggling Bellydance:
A fairly new innovation in bellydance
laced with infinite possibilities. We will cover basic balance, butterfly,
claw isolations and transitions of contact juggling adding a variety of
sharp and squid like movements of bellydance. Bounce a newton off
that hip slide and add a new element to the dance. Create illusions of
time and space, then dance around them.
Yoga and Meditation:
Practice Sivananda Hatha Yoga and guided meditation
with Bliss as we create union of mind body and spirit. Benefits include
strengthening of every system in the body, enhanced flexibility, centering
of mind,increased balance, and fullness of breath with the practice of pranayama.
The guided meditation is an internal journey of grounding the spirit,
exploring and cleansing the chakras. Relax... and wake up to yourself!
Private Instruction-
Private training sessions are available to work on
your personal goals in movement and prayerformance. Areas of instruction
include bellydance, yoga, fans, double staff, staff, contact staff, poi, hoop,
and contact juggling.
